Ferry

The Island of Elba can be reached by embarking from the port of Piombino Marittima, where there are four shipping companies (Toremar, Moby, Blu Navy and Corsica Ferries). The navigation lasts about an hour, covering about 10 km during the navigation, which takes off from the main port of Portoferraio. Alternatively, there’s the hydrofoil, a fast, passenger-only mode of transport that takes you to the island in about 35 minutes.

The ferries are comfortable and there are several trips per day, with departures around every 30 minutes in the summer season, while the frequency is lower in the off-season with some intervals reaching as long as a few hours.
